My son loves cats. He jokingly asked one day, “Why haven’t you made a piece of music for me yet.” With my wicked sense of humour, and my son being an eligible bachelor still, “I Love Pussy … Catz” was born. This was created in Cubasis 3 on an M1 iPad Pro. From some ‘rough’ cat meows that I recorded I used the PaulXStretch Auv3 plugin to make long, soulful cat howls. The same samples were used in Bleass’ SampleWiz 2 to make unique instruments for some melodic parts. Other AUv3 apps used were Continua and Cube Synth Pro for Pads, Bassalicious 2 for the Bass, strings from iSymphonic, flute from FM Player 2, percussion from Digistix 2 and some internal Cubasis instruments. Mixing was done within Cubasis 3 and an initial Master made with Final Touch from Positive Grid. Final mastering was completed in Logic Pro from the Final Touch WAV file.
